The 2023 Lenten Project fundraiser was a huge success, thanks to the AMAZING AND GENEROUS St. Eugene parishioners.
This year we raised $31,177 for our sister parish, Our Lady Queen of Apostles, in Nkokonjeru, Uganda.
The money will go toward purchasing a NEW GENERATOR for their incubator/hatchery. The Twinning relationship started in 2002, and since 2006, we have been supporting their sustainable agriculture projects and the generator will ensure that there will be constant power to the incubator in case the electricity goes out.
The agriculture projects help train the farmers to grow crops and/or raise animals and the farmers are then able to sell the surplus and the money can be used to send their children to school as well as being able to afford clothes, medications and buy other foods at market for their family.
